"Japan creative" that I joined at Hankyu, Kobe has ended. Then I am planning to deepen my business for rakuon and embody my fashion-tech.
I would have written my visit in 2017 to New York, where is the most important place during the new year holiday of 2019 and 2020. I am just writing this blog after I am away from super-busy situation for a while.
The reason why I had visited New York in 2017 is joining start-up meeting that had took place in Brooklyn. I will mention it later.
At that time, I was looking for companies that can be collaborated with rakuon, because New York is known for fashion-capitol and start-ups.
I visited New York from 18th April in 2017 and It was when I prepared establishment of my company.
One of concept that rakuon provides kimono with affordable price had already existed in me at that time.
However it was needed to embody how to execute it and I wanted to collaborate with a academia.
Finally I reached Fashion Institute of Technology.
Fashion Institute of Technology is a Colledge which majors in Fashion, design and arts etc and located in the central Manhattan at Fashion St in NYC.
I made my presentation documents that rakuon would held kimono contest competition among students in FIT and the kimono that get prizes would be sold in rakuon.
I made a phone Call to FIT before visit and during stay for my appointment.
Actually I hadn't stayed in New York since 2001. I was almost lost to the way for Hotel when I got off Shuttle Bus from JFK international Airport. After I checked in, I went to Empire State building to feel I arrived New York.
I really appreciated an excellent night view on the top of the Empire State building. I wasn't bored because I talked with other attendees on waiting line.
I began to negotiate with FIT from the next day. Firstly I visited the building that I made appointment. The campus of FIT isn't so enormous compared to Japanese university. Moving can be between every building in few minutes.
I was asked to visit Mr.Aleksandr Nazarov, Office of Academic Affairs when I mentioned about my kimono contest plan. And I asked one of secretary in the section to contact with Aleksandr, negotiated with him by mail and made a presentation for him.
Speaking and writing English fluently in appointment is a kind of next step. It requires proficiency in business of English.
Unexpectedly Wifi in my accommodation didn't work and I connected internet at Starbucks in the morning and evening everyday. I sometimes used Starbucks wifi outside without entering in to mail him with putting Mac on my forehand.
When I made a presentation to Aleksandr after several days I had visited several faculitiy staffs, I went to FIT in my kimono to make him understand my business visually. I was so proud of Japanese kimono while I was walking down Fashion St. It was fun!
He made admission for my request after presentation. He gave me the application form that FIT cooperates for holding a kimono contest. I got a lot of good result and satisfaction with my visit of FIT in April 2017.
This is my first met with FIT. FIT is always with my basic. 12/23/2024
